Chicot State Park

Chicot State Park is a great place to spend a weekend with nature in Central Louisiana. Located near Ville Platte, Louisiana, Chicot State Park offers over 20 miles of hiking trails, camping, fishing, and more! Within the park you’ll find the Louisiana State Arboretum with over 600 acres of natural Louisiana woodlands. Cupcake and I visited a few days ago and had a great time. While the scenery was a little brown this visit (with it being late fall), the cooler temperatures made for a very pleasant day. Make sure to bring plenty of mosquito repellant (pretty much year-round)!
