When you spend as much time camping without hookups as we do, staying comfortable without using a lot of electricity becomes pretty important. That’s why we were interested when Saker sent us their F30P Portable Camping Misting Fan to try out so we can find out if this will keep us cool!
We didn’t purchase the fan, and this isn’t intended to be our final review. We’re going to use it over the coming weeks around our cargo trailer, cabin, and outdoor kitchen before deciding how well it actually fits the way we live and travel.
More Than Just a Portable Misting Fan
The Saker F30P immediately caught our attention because it’s quite a bit different from the typical rechargeable camping fan.
It features a 20,000mAh rechargeable battery, allowing it to operate independently instead of constantly drawing power from our portable power stations. That’s particularly interesting to us because most of the electricity we use while boondocking comes from portable power stations and solar panels.
The F30P also incorporates an adjustable telescoping stand with folding legs. It can be kept relatively compact when we’re sitting around camp or extended when we want the airflow higher. The fan head can also be adjusted, giving us quite a bit of flexibility in directing the airflow where we actually need it.
When we’re finished, everything collapses into a much smaller package for storage.
That’s important in a 6×10 cargo trailer, where every piece of gear has to earn the space it occupies.
Adding Mist to the Airflow
One of the more interesting features of the F30P is its misting capability.
Moving air can certainly make a hot afternoon more comfortable, but adding a fine water mist has the potential to provide additional cooling when we’re sitting outside.
That’s something we’re especially interested in trying around our outdoor kitchen and at campsites during warmer weather.
The fan also includes an LED light, remote control, timer functionality, oscillation, and an adjustable fan head. Taken together, those features could make it useful for everything from sitting outside in the evening to providing airflow inside our cargo trailer at night.
How We’re Going to Use It
Rather than setting the F30P Misting Fan on a table for twenty minutes and calling this a review, we’re going to actually live with it.
We’ll use it while camping andtry it around our outdoor kitchen. We’ll use it at the cabin. And we’ll see how convenient it really is to carry along in the cargo trailer.
We’re particularly interested in answering a few real-world questions.
How long does the battery last during normal use? Is the misting feature actually useful on a hot afternoon? How much air does it move from several feet away? Is it quiet enough for use around the campsite or inside the trailer? And is the adjustable stand something we’ll actually use regularly?
Most importantly, will we still be carrying it with us a few weeks from now?
That’s ultimately our test for almost any piece of camping gear.
Saker provided the F30P Misting Fan for us to try, but we’re going to spend some time actually using it before giving our final thoughts. We’ll share what we learn in another video and update our website with our longer-term experience.
Because for us, the goal isn’t accumulating more camping gear.
It’s finding the things that genuinely help us enjoy a simpler life—and more adventure.
