White Sands National Park is located just west of Alamagordo, New Mexico and is a fantastic stop in southern New Mexico. It is the one of the newest National Parks having previously been classified as a National Monument. You can click on THIS LINK for more information on the park.
We drove through the park and some of the video is part of our YouTube video. Once you enter the park the road changes to white sand fairly quickly and it’s that way throughout the park (don’t worry, it’s not too deep and it’s easy to drive on). There are also several trails in the park that offer great views, interesting scenery and educational material. It is a relatively small park (to me, at least the amount of area you can access) and you can easily see the park in less than a day. It’s definitely worth your time to stop and enjoy this amazing place!
