If camping isn’t your thing but you feel the pull of nature, you might want to consider Glamping in the North Georgia mountains! While Cupcake and I prefer the off-grid/cargo trailer version, we recently went camping in a yurt just outside of Blairsville, Georgia. The “Lotus Belle” is a wonderful place to stay, with easy access to many amenities and only a short drive away from our favorite North Georgia town, Hiawassee!
The drive to the Lotus Belle takes you through rolling hills as you head south from Blairsville. After about a 15 minute drive you’ll turn down the driveway (you’ll receive the actual address after you make your reservation and receive confirmation from the hosts – they’re wonderful, by the way!) to a magical place. The space not only includes the Lotus Belle, but two other spaces you can rent through AirBNB (see the link below to the Lotus Belle). One is a small Airstream, while the other is an amazing small cabin (where we hope to stay the next time we’re in the area).
Everything You Need!
The yurt has just about everything you’ll need for an amazing stay: a comfortable sitting area with a grill and sink (fed by a nearby water hose), a chiminea for those chilly nights, and a perfect little hammock to relax. Inside the yurt you’ll find plenty of room (for two) with an amazingly comfortable bed, adorable decor and (wait for it) an air conditioner! They do offer heat when necessary, but you’ll receive direction on how to use it properly to avoid flipping a breaker. It really was a fun stay and we’re so glad we found this place!
